How long have you been crossfitting? A little over a year

Athletic Background: Softball in High School

What brought you to Crossfit: I was so sick of hearing my husband talk about it constantly, so I googled crossfit gyms, and signed up at Enclave the next day.

What were your thoughts after your first WOD? That was absolutely terrible...I’m coming back tomorrow.

What are your training/fitness goals?
100 lb Snatch club! One day I’ll get there

What is your favorite Crossfit WOD and/or movement?
Clean and jerks/power snatches... Something about throwing heavy weights over your head that makes you feel so bad ass.

What is your least favorite Crossfit WOD and/or movement?
Easy, Burpees

What is your favorite thing about Crossfit?
It makes you challenge yourself in so many ways. Physically, If you can’t do something, you modify it to make it challenging for YOU. If you can’t do pull-ups, you don’t skip it, you work with multiple bands, then you go  one band, etc. You are always moving toward a realistic goal. And mentally, if you don’t think you can do something, you have the absolute greatest group of people around you, pushing you to be your best.

What is your favorite cheat food?
Ice cream
(I don’t know if it counts as cheating if it’s part of your daily diet though)

Tell us something that nobody knows about you?
I’ve been to Africa multiple times on mission trips, serving in one of the poorest places in the world, and I will absolutely talk your ear off if you ask me about it.

That and, people probably don’t know that I’m one of the youngest people at the gym, but I hate acknowledging it because I’m a very old soul.

Any advice for people just getting started with Crossfit?

Just keep going. Eventually the bar won’t feel so awkward, the people won’t seem so new, and the terminology will make sense. Enclave is a super cool gym, and if you invest in it, it will invest in you too.
