How long have you been CrossFitting for?
Ineffectively 3 years, as an Enclave family member, about a year.
Football, Basketball, Track and Field, more so the field in high school. I threw the javelin in college.
What were your thoughts after your very first WOD?
I am not in as good of shape as I thought.
What is something no one knows about you?
I have been in three plane, let’s call them incidents and not crashes. I am the safest person to fly with, the odds are in my favor.
What are your training/fitness goals?
To be in better shape at 40 than I was at 20.
What is your favorite CrossFit WOD?
Don’t really have one but I love Chippers, 12 days of Christmas and Fight Gone Bad is pretty miserable too.
What is your least favorite CrossFit WOD?
Anything with Thrusters.
What is your favorite cheat food?
My body nor my brain can effectively tell me when to stop eating tacos, pizza and beer. I would say beer but it’s not really a food so…beer. I am sticking with beer.
What's your favorite thing about CrossFit?
1a. The people

Any advice for people just getting started?
I have had two right shoulder surgeries, an ankle surgery, torn achilles repair surgery and sciatica that would not allow me to get out of bed or off of the floor. All of the lingering effects of those injuries have caused me pain in my life. However, since starting at Enclave I have had no pain. Listen to our coaches, listen to your body, work on your form, practice and incorporate different movements, embrace the soreness, eat a little better, hydrate and be smart. You do those things and whatever your goal, you can attain it.
