Tax Day.  Ick.

Buck competed in the CrossFit Amplify Garage Games in Lisle this weekend along with some of our friends from CrossFit Roselle.  Jim and I were able to make it to see the third workout which was an 8 minute AMRAP of 25 squat cleans, 25 bar facing burpees, and then ME wallballs.  Really liked this workout, we may see it at some point - but we'll give Buck some time to recover before we do....

For those that are interested, there are a few more competitions that I know of going on in June (CrossFit Atlas) and Aug/Sept (CrossFit Huntley).  I believe the one at Atlas has a teams division, as well as scaled and RX.

Anyways, see the progression of the third workout that Buck participated in....

This is our testing week.  We'll be spending more time on strength this week, slowly working up to a 1RM.  It is important that you write down your strength numbers this week because during the strength cycle, we are going to be using percentages of your 1RM over the course of the next few months.  Work up slowly and take your time on each lift throughout the week so that we have a good baseline.

Strength/Skill:

1 RM Backsquat, up to 30 minutes

WOD:

8minute amrap:

  • 30 double unders
  • 15 air squats
  • 10 abmat situps
